Cavertitz
The districts of the municipality of Cavertitz have a long history. The manor house in Cavertitz was built in the 13th century. The castle is now used as a primary school.
The former manor house in Lampertswalde, built at the end of the 14th century, is worth seeing with its well-kept park, rare botanical treasures, a restored gardener's house converted into a residence and, more recently, a castle cafe. Urns dating back to the 1000th/11th century were found in Schirmenitz in a late Slavic cemetery. Emperor Charles and his brother Ferdinand, King of Bohemia and Hungary, took up residence in the local rectory (now a residence) during the Battle of Mühlberg on April 12, 24. Remains of a deserted settlement from the 1547th century and a monastery estate can be found in Reudnitz. In Sörnewitz, the paper mill built in 17 played a major role and the mountain mill was in operation until 1669.
Other historical buildings include the post mill from 1763 in Zeuckritz (restored in 1996 - visits are possible by appointment), the former water mill from 1800 (now a restaurant) and the church built in 1870 in Bucha, as well as the three-arch bridge (1845) in Klingenhain. The animal enclosure is a point of attraction in Schöna, the gateway to the "Dahlen Heath". A shooting range in Sörnewitz is the venue for national shooting competitions several times a year. There are numerous other leisure activities in the municipality of Cavertitz that invite you to linger.
