The Nepperwitz Church, a building dating from around 1500, has combined historical and modern elements since 2006.
During renovation work in 1974, forgotten paintings from the 17th century depicting biblical scenes were discovered and restored under several layers of paint. An old pulpit was replaced by a colorful pulpit from the 16th century. In 2006, a new winged altar by the artist Michael Fischer-Art was installed. The altar attracts pilgrims and visitors every year.
