Deuben Church

The church was built about 550 years ago as a small place of worship and has been expanded three times over the centuries. These structural changes continue to shape the building's unique character. The most comprehensive remodeling took place in 1658, when the church acquired its present appearance. A special feature is the still preserved bell from 1508.

From around 1700, maintaining the church presented a major financial challenge for the people of Deuben. Only in 1995, 2004, and 2011, thanks to favorable circumstances, were comprehensive renovations possible. Since then, the church has been heated and welcomes worship services even during the winter months.
