Church Machern
The Machern church was first mentioned in 1121 as belonging to the diocese of Merseburg, and in 1268 Machern became an independent parish church.
The church is characterized by a mixture of different styles. The choir, with its irregular star vault, was built around 1430, and the nave around 1490. The sacristy was added in 1615, and the nave was also extended at the same time. During a renovation of the church in 1753, the tower was raised, and the church was extensively renovated again in 1824.
The current organ was installed in 1875, at the same time as the nave was raised and lengthened again. In 1999, the organ was restored by Benjamin Welde of Olbersdorf.
