The first documented mention dates back to 961. It was consecrated as St. Wenceslai's Church in the middle of the 13th century. The current late Gothic hall church dates from the 16th century. The mighty, square west tower still had a gable roof in 1628. The church was almost completely destroyed during the Holy Week of 1637. It was rebuilt between 1663 and 1673. The church tower then received its baroque dome in 1689. The church's coffered ceiling, which was installed in 1673 and restored in 1926, is worth seeing. However, this coffered ceiling partially collapsed in 1975 due to rot and mold. By separating the chancel from the nave at the end of the 80s, a winter church was created that was more in keeping with the current size of the congregation. The new organ has been there since 1999.
The church houses a Jehmlich organ and a new Eule organ from the Hermann Eule organ workshop.
