Hof Neubau (Böttchergäßchen / Salzgäßchen)
The Hof Neubau is located in the middle of a residential building in Leipzig's city center. The publicly accessible courtyard at the apartment block between Böttcher- and Salzgäßchen dates back to the GDR era and houses not only apartments but also bistros and cafés.
The neon sign of the famous Pinguin milk bar is emblazoned on the outer facade on the Katharinenstraße side. The logo is a listed building, as is the small bronze fountain in the courtyard dating from 1964. The facade of the four-sided building complex is supported by sandstone, while the window railings are decorated with mosaic panels.
