As a traditional fairground, the area on Cottaweg in the city of Leipzig serves as a venue for various events all year round. Among other things, the famous Leipzig Small Fair takes place here several times a year.

Due to its area of ​​35.000 m² and excellent transport links, the site with up to 1.000 parking spaces often serves as a parking area for visitors to major events in the neighboring Red Bull Arena or the festival meadow in front of the stadium.
