The G2 Kunsthalle boasts over 1.000 square meters of exhibition space in bright, spacious rooms. From the glass-enclosed lounge on the third floor of the former computer center, visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of St. Thomas Church and the city center across the hall. Since March 2015, selected works from the private collection of Steffen Hildebrand have been on display. The collection focuses on contemporary Leipzig painting, featuring both emerging and established artists. Among them are outstanding works by Rosa Loy, Neo Rauch, David Schnell, and Matthias Weischer. The collection is further enriched by other media and current national and international art.
Since July 2022, the G2 Kunsthalle has expanded to include the G2 Schaulager. It features independently extendable storage walls and is located on the second floor of the same building. It allows visitors to explore a large portion of the collection during public tours. The Kunsthalle is regularly open on Wednesdays, as well as Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Schaulager can be visited on guided tours on the same days.
