For those who like cool water, there are swimming opportunities at Lake Albrechtshainer. In addition to an area filled with sand to create a beach feeling, you can also relax on the lawns in summer, with or without shade. There is also the Leipzig climbing forest and a boat rental service at the lake.
With lots of greenery, forests, lakes, quarries, cycling and hiking trails, the city and its surroundings offer plenty of variety. Connected to the Leipzig New Lake District, existing tourist opportunities are being expanded and new ones are being developed.
If you decide to explore the Muldental and Leipzig's New Lake District beyond their borders, Brandis is an ideal starting point. Within an hour you can get from Halle to Dresden, from Chemnitz to Wittenberg.
Many of the approximately 60 sports and cultural clubs organize or participate in regular events. The year traditionally begins with the New Year's meeting with fireworks on the market. On April 30th, the maypole is put up on the market. Other highlights of the year include the Brandiser Park Festival in the city park, the musical courtyard festivals in the Polenzer Einigkeit 4 club, the vintage car meeting, the Beucha Triathlon Day on Lake Albrechtshainer, the Christmas market in Beucha and the Brandiser Castle Christmas.
