Industrial and Film Museum Wolfen
The cradle of modern color film is in Wolfen near Bitterfeld. Here, at the source of almost inexhaustible raw material deposits, the world-famous Aktiengesellschaft für Anilinfabrikation (Agfa) produced the world's first universally usable multi-layer color film. You can watch the production of the "Agfacolor-Neu" at the original location with original machines in the Wolfen Industrial and Film Museum. It's unique. Immerse yourself in the world of melting emulsions and enormous pouring machines, follow former employees through the corridors and experience an idiosyncratic flair and the touch of a very special industrial romance. The museum features over 800 collector's items and the largest publicly accessible collection of cameras and film cameras in Saxony-Anhalt. The exhibition on the industrial history of the Bitterfeld-Wolfen region provides information about the eventful history of what was once the largest industrial region in central Germany.
