The Jehmlich organ was built in 1862 by the Royal Court organ builder Carl Eduard Jehmlich from Dresden as his Opus 10.

It is a mechanical slider-chest organ and has 31 registers, distributed over 2 manuals and a pedal.

From November 2002 to November 2003, it underwent a comprehensive restoration by the organ building workshop Ekkehard Groß, based in Waditz near Bautzen.

The original neo-Gothic facade was largely dismantled and redesigned in the 60s. The current new facade was designed by Dresden architect Christian Möller. The remaining historical elements (brown) were combined with modern elements (white).
