Colditz
The small Saxon town of Colditz is nestled in the valley of the Zwickauer Mulde. The historic town centre with its Renaissance-style town hall still bears witness to its former stately splendour. Colditz Castle, once an internment camp for high-ranking officers of the Western Allies in World War II, now houses the Escape Museum. The varied landscape is also ideal for hiking, cycling and boating.
