The MS Weltfrieden sails leisurely along the waterways and allows guests to marvel at the wonderful industrial architecture of western Leipzig. The stalwart barge has been sailing the waters of the Leipzig region since 1945. The MS Weltfrieden initially served as an excursion steamer on the Auensee. After reunification, the future of the Iron Lady initially looked uncertain. In 1998, however, she then experienced a second maiden voyage on the Karl-Heine Canal, where she has found a home to this day. The tours start several times a day at the weekend from the Stelzenhaus and each last 80 minutes. But the MS Weltfrieden also sets sail on weekdays for booked charter trips. While you are sailing leisurely, Captain Martin Schulte provides lots of interesting information about the sights along the shore, which can be discovered particularly well from the water.
