observation tower in Jutta Park Grimma
The romantic landscape park between Grimma and Höfgen is located above steeply rising porphyry cliffs on the banks of the Mulde. Jutta Ida Gleisberg had the park laid out around 1900 based on the great models of English landscape parks and Italian gardens. A main line of sight runs from the observation tower across the chestnut avenue to the Cistercian monastery of Marienthron in Nimbschen, which is located directly opposite on the other side of the river and can be reached by hand-operated passenger ferry. In addition, the park features historical water features, sculptures and sound installations.
