The Leipzig Opera is a partner of the Leipzig Card/Leipzig Regio Card.
The advantages are described under "Good to know/Price information".

The Leipzig Opera represents more than 300 years of municipal operatic tradition and is the venue for well-known soloists, choirs and the Leipzig Gewandhausorchesters.

The Leipzig Opera – comprising opera, musical comedy, and the Leipzig Ballet – is the third oldest civic musical theater stage in Europe. Its outstanding international reputation is shaped by the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, important soloists, an award-winning choir and the Leipzig Ballet.

The opera was founded in 1693, making it the second oldest German musical theater after Hamburg. The current building on Augustusplatz was opened in 1960 and now seats over 1.270 spectators for one of the numerous performances. The Leipzig Music Trail runs directly past the opera house, and the Leipzig Jazz Festival also takes place here annually. The musicals and operettas included in the program have been performed for over 40 years at the Musical Comedy, located in the historic Haus Dreilinden in western Leipzig. With its own ensemble of soloists, choir, ballet, and versatile orchestra, the Musical Comedy Theatre is a professional theater specializing in the genres of operetta and musical.

The podcast "Welcome to Leipzig". Guests include ballet dancer Natasa Dudar, singer Karin Lovelius, pianist Ugo D'Orazio and artistic director and general music director of the opera Ulf Schirmer, who will provide exciting insights.
