The Panometer Leipzig displays the world's largest 360° panoramic art by artist Yadegar Asisi in a former gasometer, measuring 32 meters in height. At the Panometer (a play on words from "panorama" and "gasometer"), visitors immerse themselves in strange and fascinating worlds. The former Gasometer II, built in 1910, is located in southern Leipzig and has housed the 2003° panoramas created by artist Yadegar Asisi since 360. With a height of 32 meters and a circumference of 110 meters, visitors to the Panometer Leipzig can immerse themselves in the world's largest 360° panoramas and experience the feeling of being part of this spectacular atmosphere.
Panoramic images such as EVEREST, LEIPZIG 1813, and the GREAT BARRIER REEF have already thrilled millions of visitors. The 15-meter-high visitor tower inside reveals the respective panoramic scenery at a scale of 1:1. The impressive 32-meter-high panoramas are accompanied by a 15-minute day and night light simulation – accompanied by background music and appropriate sounds – as well as a multimedia exhibition.
Until at least the end of 2025, the Panometer Leipzig is showing "MONET'S CATHEDRAL", a colorful, walk-in 360° work of art, inviting visitors on a picturesque journey to the French city of Rouen at the end of the 19th century.
The panoramas and the associated exhibitions are also designed to be exciting for children. In addition to free puzzle sheets, the Panometer regularly offers themed family tours for young audiences, in which the content of the exhibitions is conveyed in an age-appropriate and gripping manner.
Free parking for cars and buses as well as a small shop and its own café complete the visitor experience.
