Powder Tower Geithain

"Viewed from the Tower"
Discover the fascinating history of Geithain!

The imposing powder tower: Visit Geithain's striking landmark - the powder tower, which was built around 1200 as part of the former free court. Originally part of the medieval city wall and used as a watchtower, the lower part of the tower still houses a historic dungeon. During the time when Geithain was a garrison town, the tower served as a storage facility for gunpowder and thus got its name. A small exhibition inside the tower provides exciting insights into this eventful time.

Panoramic view: The climb up the monument via narrow wooden steps is worth it! Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a wide view of the Geithain area. A truly impressive experience!

Programs for young and old visitors: Our diverse offerings and programs are aimed at visitors of all ages. Whether historical tours, interactive children's programs or special events - there is something for everyone here. We also offer combination packages with other museums in Geithain to make your visit even more varied.

Immerse yourself in the history of Geithain and experience unforgettable moments in the powder tower and the surrounding sights. We look forward to your visit!
