Originally part of the medieval city wall and used as a watchtower, the lower part of the tower still houses a historic dungeon. During the time when Geithain was a garrison town, the tower served as a storage facility for gunpowder and thus got its name. A small exhibition inside the tower provides exciting insights into this eventful time.
