The residence is a venue from Schauspiel Leipzig, which is exclusively available to independently produced projects. On the premises of the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei in Hall 18, performative productions are presented in which artists from various genres work as "Artists in Residence" for a period of six to eight weeks on a theme and implement it intermedially.
Independent of the repertoire of the Schauspielhaus, the residency is intended to try out other aesthetics and working methods in the theater. Dance and visual arts have just as much space here as spoken performances and music. The working methods are open, process-based and experimental.
