The exhibition is dedicated to those who were wounded during the fighting and fought for their lives under unimaginable conditions. The museum shows the little-noticed side of the war of 1813 - military medicine, especially military surgery, was still in its infancy, there were no anesthetics, and the chances of survival were slim. Special exhibits in the museum are the tin figure dioramas of the medical and hospital services of the Napoleonic era and battlefield finds around Seifertshain. The ensemble of (museum) barn, rectory, church, cemetery with individual and mass graves of fallen soldiers from 1813 and the graves of Auguste Vater's parents, which have been preserved almost in their original state, is unique. In the future, the focus will be increasingly on the life of the French chief surgeon Baron Dominique-Jean Larrey and his importance for military medicine.
