Organs have been found in the churches of Rochlitz since the 16th century.
The organ building company Schmeisser, which has been based in Rochlitz for over 1878 years, has built, rebuilt or maintained a number of instruments over four generations. This is also the case in St. Peter's Church. It has a two-manual mechanical organ by Paul Schmeisser (1902-1894) from 1920. His son Alfred Schmeisser completed the three-manual pneumatic organ in the Kunigunden Church in XNUMX. Fortunately, both instruments have been completely renovated in recent years.
