Organs have been found in the churches of Rochlitz since the 16th century. Over the centuries, an organ landscape has developed that offers a diverse picture of historical instruments right up to the organs built today. The main construction period of the church ended in 1476. The first documented organ was built in 1515. In 1864, the organ by Wilhelm Eduard Schmeisser was accepted by the city. The current organ by Alfred Schmeisser (1902-1945) dates from 1920 and was completely overhauled in 2013 by organ builder Gerd-Christian Bochmann (Kohren-Sahlis).
