Schmidt organ in the village church of Klinga

Klangkörper & Ensemble
Conversation
The Schmidt organ is an important counterpart to the organ type developed by G. Silbermann in Saxony.

Christian Schmidt (1685 - after 1748) is documented as an organ builder in Taucha near Leipzig. He probably received his training from his father Andreas Schmidt (? - 1725). The contract to build the Klinga organ was signed on August 2, 1743. I/12 Although rebuilt in the 19th century, this organ is an important counterpart to the organ type developed by Gottfried Silbermann in Saxony. A committed support association has set itself the task of dismantling the partially makeshift repairs and changes and reconstructing the last self-contained state as authentically as possible.
