In the Frohburg district of Rüdigsdorf, in the park of the former manor house, you will find a gem of classical art and architecture - the Schwind Pavilion. It is part of the orangery building, which was built between 1829 and 1839 by the then manor owner Heinrich Wilhelm Leberecht Crusius. Crusius, himself a member of the Saxon and Leipzig Art Associations, was able to persuade Moritz von Schwind and other important artists, such as Gustav Adolf Hennig, Otto Wagner and Leopold Schulz, to decorate the hall on the theme of "Amor & Psyche". Even Gottfried Semper made suggestions for the wall design. Moritz von Schwind is today considered the main representative of German late Romanticism.
The hall has been a museum since 1968, is open to visitors in the summer and is used as a concert hall and registry office. It can be rented for private lectures and concerts. The Frohburg registry office arranges wedding appointments.
