Since the end of cotton yarn production in 1992, a good 100 artists' studios as well as eleven galleries and exhibition spaces have settled here, forming a center of the Leipzig art scene that is unrivaled anywhere in the world. One of the pioneers of the revival is none other than the famous painter Neo Rauch.
Particularly popular are the Spinnerei-Tours, during which several thousand visitors discover the site and admire the impressive exhibitions. In addition to artists, the Spinnerei It's also a place for architects, designers, jewelry, and fashion makers. Furthermore, the area forms a large cultural center with, among other things, the LURU cinema, the "Residenz" theater, printing shops, and the non-profit HALLE 14.

By car: The Art Center Spinnerei is located in the western part of Leipzig in Neulindenau and can be reached via Lützner Str. and Saarländer Str. or via Karl-Heine Str. On the Spinnerei-Parking is limited to designated areas for a maximum of 2 hours.
