With around 700 performances per season, the Theater der Jungen Welt presents a cross-disciplinary program for every age group.
The Theater der Jungen Welt is the oldest professional children's and youth theater in the German-speaking world. Today, with its diverse program and various theater education offerings, it is aimed at young and old theatergoers alike. It performs plays for toddlers from two years old to teenagers and, in the evening performances, for students and adults. The plays often deal with socially controversial topics. It is also open to kindergarten groups and school classes.

The Theater der Jungen Welt is based in the Theaterhaus am Lindenauer Markt in the west of Leipzig, where it has three permanent venues. It also performs on the move in the theater bus, in kindergartens, or in classrooms. The Theater der Jungen Welt's repertoire includes over 45 different plays.
