The Thümmlitzsee was created in 1975 by building a dam. The lake is a natural habitat for beavers, water birds and fish, but is also ideal for swimming, pedal boating and relaxing. The body of water has been approved as a bathing lake for many years. Fishing permits can be purchased on site at the reception of the local holiday park.
