Zwenkau is a lovely, family-friendly little town, surrounded by the largest lake in Leipzig's New Lake District. From the town harbor at KAP Zwenkau with its constantly growing residential, leisure, recreation and water sports area, you have an incomparable view of the lake, the pyramid of the BELANTIS amusement park, the Bistumshöhe observation tower and the skyline of Leipzig.

Other destinations worth seeing are: mining exhibition pavilion, viewing points on the lake, town hall, Laurentius Church, Bauhaus Rabe, “Sattelhof”, water tower, “Schützenhaus”, Ratskeller, Baroque town hall, cultural cinema, nature and geo-educational trail, “Trianon” and Lindenallee Eythra in Zwenkauer Eichholz as well as Elsteraue along the “White Elster”.

Zwenkau is located on tourist routes such as the "Lignite Road", "Leipzig Green Ring", "7 Lakes Hiking Trail", "Elster Cycle Trail" and the "Neuseenland Route". Zwenkau's idyllic districts are also worth seeing: Großdalzig, Kleindalzig, Löbschütz, Rüssen-Kleinstorkwitz, Tellschütz and Zitzschen.

Arrival & Parking

The best way to reach Zwenkau is via the S-Bahn stations Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz or Böhlen. Bus lines 100, 101 and 107 take you to the center.
