The route between Altenburg and Colditz is ideal for cycling enthusiasts thanks to its varied landscape. The starting point is the former royal residence of Altenburg, with its playing card museum and impressive castle complex. After approximately 14 km, we reach Gnandstein, where a visit to the 13th-century Romanesque castle is worthwhile.
The tour takes us through the town of Frohburg, which is particularly known for its castle and museum. The next town we come across is an excellent thermal spa resort. Bad Lausick offers its guests relaxing hours in the Riff spa and leisure pool, so a longer stay is also possible.
The destination of the cycle route is Colditz, the town delights visitors with the Colditz Castle and Escape Museum.

Take bus 619 from Colditz, Leipziger Straße, to Grimma, Volkshausplatz. From Grimma station, continue with the RB110 to Leipzig. Then take the S-Bahn (S5) to Altenburg.
