This section of the Elbe Cycle Route begins in Riesa. The route then continues to medieval Strehla. To get to the small town, you have to cross the river by ferry. The route then heads towards Belgern along the left bank of the Elbe. Over a somewhat more or less bumpy surface and quiet back roads, you reach Schirmenitz. Here, the Leipzig-Elbe Cycle Route meets the Elbe Cycle Route. The route now leads through the Rolandstadt Belgern towards Torgau. Belgern and Bennewitz are the two intersections of the Dahlener Heide Cycle Route and the Elbe Cycle Route. Past Torgau, you continue towards Dommitzsch or turn onto the Torgischer Cycle Route, which leads through the scenic Dübener Heide to Delitzsch. The route continues via Dommitzsch towards Elster and finally to Lutherstadt Wittenberg.
