The Elster Cycle Path runs mostly along the banks of the Elster through a varied landscape. Numerous interesting sights and attractions along the route offer many opportunities for short and long stops.

The cycle path, which follows the course of the White Elster, is characterized by a varied path surface. Due to the flat relief, it is also suitable for family outings.

The Elster cycle path begins in Pegau. We cycle along the White Elster via Groitzsch, past Zwenkau and Lake Zwenkau. At Markkleeberg we pass Lake Cospuden and continue our route via Leipzig to Schkeuditz. The approximately 50-kilometer-long cycle path is characterized by varied terrain.
