The Freiberg Mulde meanders wildly and romantically from the Czech Moldava through the Ore Mountains to Sermuth in the Leipzig lowlands.

One starting point for cycling downstream on the Mulde cycle path is in Holzhau. The source of the Freiberger Mulde is not far away, however, in the Czech Moldava in the Bohemian Ore Mountains. A trip to the source is not to be missed. You can enjoy the wind on the downhill tour between green fir forests and past wide meadows. At Rechenberg-Bienenmühle there are a few small climbs to overcome before the journey continues towards Freiberg. After another 50 kilometers full of exciting discoveries you reach Döbeln. The cycle path then leads along the river bank through a varied landscape past majestic castles and palaces. The Mulde cycle path along the Freiberger Mulde is suitable for cyclists with demanding physical fitness due to its hilly terrain.
