The signposted hiking route leads from Leisnig into the Schanzenbach valley and on the way back a bit parallel to the Freiberger Mulde into the city.

The area surrounding the town of Leisnig is fascinating due to its green, hilly landscape, which is crossed on this hiking tour. Signposted as circular hiking trail no. 7, the route leads along the Schanzenbach past two of the seven watermills that once existed: Schanzenmühle and Leithenmühle. The two ponds, Maschinenteich and Mühlteich, invite you to observe nature. After the half-day tour, it is worth taking a look at the Luther Room in the old town estate. The famous Leisnig caste order is on display here. On special days, the sounds of the Jehmlich organ can be heard in the church of St. Matthäi.
