The continuation of the long-distance cycle path parallel to the river Mulde takes us from Grimma across the Saxony border to the town of Muldenstein.

The Mulde cycle path continues from Grimma via Bad Düben and Löbnitz until it meets the Elbe cycle path in Dessau-Roßlau. Numerous castles, palaces and manor houses along the route demonstrate the wealth of Saxon history. The route runs through characteristic Mulde floodplains and wet meadows with their unique flora and fauna. Asphalted sections alternate with field paths and moderately busy roads.

Directions

From Grimma, the tour leads along paved paths along the Mulde and after the town of Rothersdorf through the Planitzwald to Schmölen. From there, you can take the passenger ferry to the eastern bank during the season, or you can continue the tour to the town of Grubnitz. In Grubnitz, both paths meet again and lead us through small towns, nature and the town of Eilenburg to the ferry to Gruna. There we can cross to Hohenprießnitz. Further north, we pass the town of Bad Düben and follow accompanying cycle paths, well-paved paths and country roads to the Pouch reservoir and the town of Muldenstein.
