From Technitz, the 44-kilometer-long section of the Zschopautal cycle path leads along the Zschopau to Frankenberg and finally further into the Ore Mountains to Oberwiesenthal.

The Zschopautal cycle path takes you past the Kriebstein dam through one of the most beautiful natural areas in the Leipzig region. There are many opportunities to rest and explore along the way. Due to some very challenging sections of the route, the Zschopautal cycle path is particularly recommended for experienced cyclists.

Directions

We start our tour in Technitz and follow the Zschopau towards Hartha. We then drive on to Waldheim, where we can visit the town church of St. Nicolai and the Waldheim cellar hills. The route continues to Kriebstein. We pass the Kriebstein dam and continue our journey past Mittweida to Frankenberg.

Equipment

It is also worth switching to a touring or mountain bike here, as the route is a bit more demanding.
