This cycle path takes us on barely ascending paths through forests and health resorts in Central Germany.

From Berlin to Leipzig in five days? Anyone who takes the time to cycle from the capital to the music metropolis of Leipzig will find a well-developed cycle path. The route leads through charming areas with plenty of variety: from the charm of Berlin's big city, through the Fläming Nature Park and the forests of the Düben Heath Nature Park, through historic towns like Jüteborg and Lutherstadt Wittenberg, along charming spa promenades in Bad Düben and Bad Schmiedeberg, and, last but not least, past watermills and post mills, which can be found in a wide variety of shapes.

The route shown here is the last stage of the Berlin-Leipzig cycle route.

If you do not want to do the cycle route as a stage tour over several days, but want to do the tour presented here as a single stage, can be Train station in Lutherstadt Wittenbergstart and cycle for about 90 km on the Berlin-Leipzig cycle path to Leipzig.

Directions

The tour begins in Bad Schmiedeberg and initially runs through the Düben Heath. At the Hammerbrücke bridge, the cycle path continues through impressive, dense pine groves and extensive mixed forests to the spa town of Bad Düben. There, you pass Bad Düben Castle, St. Nicholas Church, and the famous post mill at the edge of town. The route continues over the Mulde Bridge through the village of Wellaune and then via Krippehna to the Schadebach Dam in Noitzsch.

At the end of the village, the route follows the Berlin-Leipzig cycle path via Schönwölkau, Boyda, Kupsal, Mutschlena, Gottscheina, and Merkwitz to Plaußig-Portitz. There, you pass the Nordost natural swimming pool and the Hohen Thekla Church in the Thekla district. The route continues past Schönefeld Palace and Abtnaundorf Palace before continuing along Brandenburger Straße on the east side of the train station, finally ending at Leipzig Central Station.
