In Bad Düben, it is worth stopping at the historic Obermühle. The watermill is the oldest of its kind in the region. With the cozy mill café and the garden atmosphere, you can spend a very nice break here.

In the direction of Bitterfeld, the cycle path leads straight between the Muldestausee and the Goitzschesee. The Bitterfeld Water Centre is also located on the Goitzschesee, a former waterworks that is now an information and education centre offering a wide range of activities relating to the elixir of life: water.

Directions

The tour starts at Eilenburg Ost train station and initially leads along Hartmannstrasse through the Eilenburg industrial estate. At the north-east industrial estate, turn left onto the Mulde cycle path and follow the path towards Mensdorf and Mörtitz. At the edge of Mörtitz, keep left and follow the route to Gruna. At the Gruna turnabout, turn left, past the ferry house, and cross the Mulde. On the opposite bank of the Mulde, the path continues to the right, past Hohenprießnitz, to Ober-Glaucha and Nieder-Glaucha. The route now briefly follows a section of the federal highway before turning right to Bad Düben. If you want to take a detour to Bad Düben, cross the Mulde bridge here and reach the beautiful spa town with its famous post mill. Otherwise, the route continues on the opposite bank of the Mulde towards Pouch and on to Bitterfeld-Wolfen.
