The tour begins in Leisnig. On the market square, next to the town hall, the water playground “The Dancing Apples” is a fun starting point for the little tour members.
The Podelwitz moated castle is also worth a stop. Here you will find the local history rooms, where you will find a unique collection of regional history.
A highlight of the tour is the ride on the historic cable ferry to Höfgen, the Village of the Senses. Information on departure times can be found here: grimma.de/kultur-und-tourismus/entdeckungen/muldeschifffahrt-und-faehre
From Höfgen you have two options: either follow the “Path of Stones” to Grimma or take the ferry back to the other side of the river and cycle downstream to your destination.

Directions
The cycle tour begins at the train station in Leisnig. From there, follow Bahnhofsstraße to Johannistalstraße. At the next intersection, turn right onto Chemnitzer Straße and reach the town center. The route takes you past the tourist information office and the impressive St. Matthew's Church before turning left onto Schlossstraße. You'll soon reach the famous Mildenstein Castle, majestically overlooking the Mulde River. From there, continue straight ahead to Tragnitz, where you turn right onto Fabrikstraße and immediately left again. Shortly after, the Mulde Cycle Path crosses a main road and continues straight ahead on the opposite bank to Altleisnig. In Altleisnig, cross the bridge over the Freiberger Mulde River and then keep left towards Wiesental and Marschwitz. At the end of the town, follow the cycle path to the left and reach Maaschwitz via Tanndorf. If you'd like to take a detour, cross the bridge here and reach the picturesque Podelwitz moated castle, perfect for a short rest. From Maaschwitz, cycle further down the Mulde to Erlln. There, keep right at the end of the village and follow the path along the edge of the forest to Kössern. Passing the Kössern hunting lodge, cross the bridge over the Freiberger Mulde, then turn right and follow the cycle path to Kleinbothen. Here, first turn left onto Marktstraße until you reach the intersection with Badstraße. There, continue left and soon turn right onto a small side street. If you fancy a short detour, you can also follow Badstraße straight ahead and reach Großbothen. The Mulde cycle path now leads you via Schaddel directly to Nimbschen Monastery. Opposite, on the other side of the Mulde, is the historic Höfgen ship mill – a worthwhile stopover, which you reach by crossing the bridge just before the monastery. Passing Nimbschen Monastery, the route continues to Grimma. Here, sights such as Gattersburg Castle, the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), and the St. Augustin Monastery Church line your route. At Grimma Castle, turn left onto the Pathe-Mulde cycle path, follow it for a short distance, and then keep left again along the moat. After the roundabout, continue along August-Bebel-Straße onto Gerichtsweg, finally reaching Grimma Upper Station, the destination of your tour.
