Directions

The cycling route along Leipzig's Green Ring is fully signposted and includes distance information. It runs partly on dedicated cycle paths and partly on roads. Since it's a circular route, the tour can be started from any point.

Those who want to start cycling in Naunhof can choose the town church, the clock tower museum, or the market square as a starting point. From here, the route heads south past the Naunhof forest pool to Lindhardt. Via Belgershain, Oelzschau, Kömmlitz, and Großpötzschau, you finally reach Espenhain. The route continues for a short stretch along the main road to Rötha and continues through the town center to Böhlen.

Heading south, the route passes the Lippendorf power plant and reaches Zwenkau. Via Klein- and Großdalzig, you reach Werben on Lake Werbelin. From there, the route continues north through Kitzen, Seebenisch, and Kulkwitz to Markranstädt. Leaving the city center, you cycle past the Bismarck Memorial and the Markranstädt public swimming pool to Altranstädt. The route then continues via Priesteblich and Frankenheim through the Luppeaue nature reserve. After crossing the Luppe and White Elster rivers, you follow the Elster Cycle Path to Schkeuditz-West.

Via Merseburger Straße, you reach Schkeuditz-Ost and the Porsche factory. From there, the route continues north to Schladitzer Lake, whose shore you follow to Schladitzer Bay. Continue along Haynaer Straße and the roundabout to Podelwitz. Passing the Leipzig-Nord/Plaußig industrial park and the BMW factory, you cycle through Seegeritz, Cradefeld, and Taucha. Via Panitzsch and Borsdorf, you finally reach Albrechtshainer Lake and return to Naunhof, where the circular route concludes.
