From Großdalzig station, the path initially runs southwards on the country road coming from Zitzschen. The footpath then shortcuts the road and takes you to Großdalzig, whose appearance has unfortunately been very adversely changed by replacement buildings in connection with the relocation of Eythra. From the village square, the path initially continues past the church and cemetery and you reach Tellschütz in a few minutes. Here we leave the country road leading to Pegau and follow the village road in a southerly direction. At the entrance to the Rundling we then turn east towards Wiederau. Following the hiking trail, after a few minutes we cross the Elstermühlgraben and then follow the asphalt road coming from Kleindalzig, which is paved from here. Once you arrive in Wiederau, it is advisable to visit the church, built in 1700, and the baroque castle. A plaque on the garden gate points out the importance of the castle's history. In front of the castle's farmyard, a narrow asphalt road branches off in an easterly direction. This takes you to the western flood protection dam of the White Elster. Parallel to this dam, from which you have a good view of the Elster Bridge and the towns of Döhlen and Rüssen-Kleinstorkwitz on the eastern bank of the Elster, our path then leads past the Wiederau transmitter complex and you reach Weideroda in about 20 minutes. At the first farmstead in Weideroda, the road leads away from the Elster Dam to the dead-end village of Zauschwitz with the remains of a Slavic rampart. Our hiking trail continues on the left-hand village road of Weideroda and at the next intersection you turn left and after a few meters your gaze wanders over the silhouette of the town of Pegau with the towers of the town hall and the town church of St. Laurentius. Now we cross the connecting canal between the Elster and the Elstermühlgraben on the field path that continues south. We follow the field path to the bridge over the Mühlgraben, but do not cross it, instead using the pedestrian bridge about 50 m to the south, directly at the mouth of the small Flößgraben. The path over the pedestrian bridge ends at the Pegau-Ost train station. Here we end our hike and take a city tour through Pegau.
