This is the third section on the Vereinigte Mulde with a total length of 19,9 km.

The strong meandering of the Mulde is constantly changing the natural floodplain landscape between Eilenburg and Bad Düben. Wet meadows and numerous oxbows serve as water bodies for humans and animals. Nature and bird sanctuaries provide insights into the rich flora and fauna. With a little luck, you might even spot the local beaver. The area around Bad Düben is dotted with mills of various designs.

Directions

The worthwhile Eilenburg center is located west of the Mulde. To continue on the Mulde cycle path, we cross Ziegelstrasse, which leads over the Mulde. Then we turn left at the next traffic light intersection into Ernst-Mey-Strasse. We follow this to the end and then turn left onto Uferstrasse. We pass the industrial estate and at the end of the cycle path we change to the concrete path, which branches off diagonally to the left. We follow the road straight through the villages of Mensdorf and Mörtitz. In Gruna we can take a break at the ferry house. The friendly ferryman takes us across to the other side of the river - crossing is mandatory here. On the opposite side of the river we turn right and at the end of the road in Hohenprießnitz we turn left and then immediately right again. In Oberglaucha we turn right and at the end of the road we turn left again. In Niederglaucha we keep left again and turn north onto the B107 (Wellauner Straße), which we leave after 500 meters, turning diagonally right onto a wide gravel path. We follow the path further through the enchanting Mulde floodplain for about 3 kilometers and finally find ourselves at the gates of Bad Düben.
