Mulde Cycle Path - Section Glauchau to Rochlitz (Zwickauer Mulde)

The stage starts at Glauchau train station and follows the Mulde Cycle Path through Reinholdshain and Kleinbernsdorf. The route continues towards Waldenburg, past the Waldenburg Lutheran Church, and then towards Niederwinkel. Then follow the Mulde Cycle Path to Hermsdorf. At the Wolkenburg Mining Association, cross the Zwickauer Mulde River, then turn right and follow the riverbank around Wolkenburg Castle. From Wolkenburg, continue to Tierbach. At the hydroelectric power station, cross the bridge over the Zwickauer Mulde River, then turn left and follow the path to Penig. In Penig, cross the bridge over the Mulde River again and turn right. After a short section, keep right again and turn onto Amerikaweg until you reach the town of Amerika. From there, continue towards Arnsdorf. At the fork in the Rochsburger Straße road, turn right and follow the road until just before Rochsburg. Then follow the Mulde Cycle Path along the K8258 to Lunzenau. Past the Lunzenau Local History Museum, the trail continues over the Zwickau Mulde River to the "Zum Prellbock" Railway Museum. At the train station, keep left and follow the bank of the Mulde River until you reach Göhren, where you must cross the Zwickau Mulde River again. Then keep right and pass the Göhren Viaduct toward Altzschillen. The trail continues to Wechelburg, where you must cross the bridge again. At Wechselburg Castle, the trail continues to the cemetery. Shortly after the cemetery, turn left onto the "Siedlung" road and follow the trail past Fischheim and Steudten to Rochlitz.

Accessible by car from Leipzig via the A72.

From Leipzig: Take the S-Bahn to Werdau, then continue with the R3 (towards Dresden) to Glauchau.

From Rochlitz back to Glauchau (starting point): 

About 10 kilometers from Rochlitz to Geithain. From there, take the RE6 to Chemnitz Hbf and then the RB30 to Glauchau. 

Take bus 628 or 629 from Rochlitz to Geithain.
