The tour starts in Leipnitz and goes along extensive fruit plantations. Around 1.500 tonnes of pome, stone and soft fruit ripen here every year on 40.000 hectares of cultivated land. Modern storage, sorting and marketing technology in the cold storage complex in Dürrweitzschen, which can hold up to 25.000 tonnes, ensures that the fruit grown in the orchard is available all year round.
