Leipzig's New Lake District offers wonderful hiking and a wealth of experiences. The town of Delitzsch also offers beautiful circular trails.

In the historic old town, you can stroll through small alleys and narrow streets. The Middle Ages are truly palpable as you walk along the imposing city walls with their water-filled moat. The magnificent Baroque palace, with its beautifully landscaped Baroque garden, is a must-see for all knights and damsels. It houses a museum and offers a tower climb, which rewards you with a 360° panoramic view of the city. Afterward, the children can really let off steam on the playground next to the palace. The Tiergarten (zoo) is a great place for budding zoo directors and animal keepers: many exotic and native animal species call it home. If you've discovered them all, you'll have truly experienced an exciting day in the Leipzig region!
