Freiberger Mulde: Leisnig – Podelwitz Water Castle

Start: Leisnig, Fischendorf, entry at the pier at the bridge between state roads 31 and 36, right bank

• Follow the river to Podelwitz Water Castle, exit on the left bank of the stone staircase (restaurant, rest recommended)

Vereinigte Mulde: Podelwitz Water Castle – Grimma

• Distance: 12 to 15 km


• Duration: 3 to 4 hours


• Transfer: not necessary

Start: Podelwitz Water Castle; Embarkation at the stone steps at the castle park, left bank

• Passing the Mulde confluence at Erlln/Sermuth (confluence of Freiberger and Zwickauer Mulde), then partially bypassing large rocks and small islands necessary


• past the "village of the builders" Kössern, right bank


• Continue to the Nimbschen Monastery pier (left bank, 200 m after the passenger ferry, rest recommended)


• then past the replica of the historic ship mill at Höfgen, the "village of the senses" (right bank, rest recommended), watch out for the Mulden shipping (priority!)

Destination: Grimma, disembarkation at the jetty behind the suspension bridge, left bank
