The 27-km-long water route on the Mulde River from Leisnig to Grimma is one of the most popular canoeing tours for the whole family. The tour begins on the Freiberger Mulde, with a view of the beautiful Mildenstein Castle. You can paddle all the way to Grimma without the hassle of carrying the weirs.
The Freiberger Mulde has a lot to offer, with small rapids and gravel hedges (consider nature conservation) alternating with gently flowing water. Podelwitz Water Castle is a rest stop for canoeists, cyclists, and car and motorcycle travelers. Whether you're looking for a restaurant or a snack bar, the choice is yours.
In Sermuth, the Freiberg and Zwickau Mulde rivers merge to form the combined Mulde. You can observe all kinds of waterfowl, which accompany you along the river all the way to Grimma.
Towards the end of the paddle tour, you pass the Höfgen ferry, the ship mill on the right, and Nimbschen Monastery on the left. On the last 3 km, paddlers encounter the Muldenschifffahrt ships, which always have the right of way!
