Eilenburg is ringing in the Christmas season from 1 to 3 December 2023.
The Christmas market is traditionally opened by the Eilenburg Castle Association with musical accompaniment from the Sprotta brass band and the traditional stollen cutting by the Lord Mayor. In addition to the magical stalls under the lime trees with all kinds of handmade items, Christmas decorations and much more, visitors can enjoy numerous sweet and savoury treats. The city library's book flea market will take place in the information pavilion on this Advent weekend.
New this year is the Eilenburg candle arch, which will be available at the Christmas market. The double-walled light element shows the town skyline with the castle hill, town hall, St Nicholas' Church, water tower and a giant tree. The arches were produced regionally and can be purchased in a limited edition at the city council stand for €89.50 each.
