Johanna Park is located in the western suburb of Leipzig. It is best known for its pond, with a small island and two bridges, as well as the view of the City Hochhaus and the tower of the New Town Hall. The park was laid out between 1858 and 1863 by the Leipzig entrepreneur and banker Wilhelm Theodor Seyfferth to commemorate his daughter Johanna, who according to the legend, died of a broken heart at a young age.
