The "Grande Dame" of Leipzig's waters invites you to explore the water city on a leisurely cruise.
The MS Weltfrieden cruises leisurely along the waterways and allows guests to marvel at the wonderful industrial architecture of western Leipzig. The unshakable barge has been sailing the waters of the Leipzig region since 1945. Initially, the MS Weltfrieden served as an excursion steamer on the Auensee. After reunification, the future of the "Iron Lady" looked uncertain at first. In 1998, she went on a second maiden voyage on the Karl Heine Canal, where she has made her home to this day. The tours start at the Stelzenhaus several times a day at the weekend and last approximately 80 minutes each. On weekdays the MS Weltfrieden can be booked for charter trips. While you cruise comfortably, Captain Martin Schulte will give you lots of interesting information about the sights along the shore, which are especially easy to discover from the water.
