Speck's Hof is the oldest preserved arcade in Leipzig and is considered one of the architectural highlights of the city.
The arcade in Speck's Hof, which is connected to the Hansa Haus, is the oldest preserved example in Leipzig. The trade fair building, constructed between 1908 and 1929, replaced the former Kaufhof of Baron von Speck. Until 1989, Speck's Hof served as an exhibition space for leather goods and jewellery.
Since its renovation in the 1990s, imaginative wall friezes, paintings and ceramic medallions by the artists Bruno Griesel, Johannes Grützke and Moritz Götze have adorned the three inner courtyards. Furthermore, Kandler, one of the most popular cafés, is located in Specks Hof.
