„Go, Clara Go“ (2025) wirft die Frage auf, wie sich die Grenzen des Sag- und Sichtbaren durch Kunst verschieben lassen – trotz oder gerade wegen aller Widerstände? Im Mittelpunkt des Films steht das Künstler*innenkollektiv „Clara Mosch“, das vor gut 50 Jahren in Chemnitz/Karl-Marx-Stadt aktiv war. Die Regisseurin Sylvie Kürsten beleuchtet damit ein ungewöhnliches Kapitel ostdeutscher Kunstgeschichte. Zusammen mit den Protagonist*innen von damals spürt sie der kreativen Energie der Künstler*innengruppe nach – und taucht tief ein in eine künstlerische Parallelwelt, die nicht nur zahlreiche Fans anzog, sondern auch die Spitzel der Stasi. Im Anschluss an die Filmvorführung sprechen die Regisseurin Sylvie Kürsten und Andreas Kötzing (HAIT) über die Bedeutung von künstlerischem Widerstand im Kontext der DDR-Kulturpolitik.
„Go, Clara Go“ raises the question of how the boundaries of what can be said and seen can be shifted through art—despite, or perhaps because of, the resistance encountered. The film focuses on the artist collective „Clara Mosch,“ which was active in Chemnitz (then Karl-Marx-Stadt) just over 50 years ago. Director Sylvie Kürsten sheds light on this unusual chapter of East German art history. Together with the original members, she traces the group’s creative energy and delves deep into an artistic parallel world that attracted not only numerous fans but also Stasi informants.(German original version) Following the screening, director Sylvie Kürsten and Andreas Kötzing (HAIT) will discuss the significance of artistic resistance within the context of GDR cultural policy.
