7th Annual Conference on Experimental Sociology

Messe

The 7th Annual Conference of Experimental Sociology (ACES) will take place for the first time in Germany, hosted by Leipzig University.

ACES provides a platform for the presentation, exchange, and discussion of experimental research in sociology and the broader social sciences. At its core, experimental research seeks to identify causal social mechanisms by contrasting a treatment group with a comparable untreated control group. This approach spans various research designs, including laboratory experiments, survey experiments, field experiments, and natural experiments, where data collection happens ex post.

Beside the regular presentation and a possible poster session this year’s edition of ACES will include keynote speeches given by Sonja Vogt (University of Lausanne) and Andreas Diekmann (ETH Zurich and Leipzig University). Furthermore, a panel discussion on the connecting lines between experimental research and Computational Social Science will be held. Eva Vriens (National Research Council of Italy) will moderate the discussion.
